You asked, we answered.
Here are answers to some of Kona’s frequently asked questions.
What kind of dog is Kona?
Kona is a Coton de Tuléar and hails from AKC Champion (mum, Nick Nack) and AKC Grand Champion (dad, Olly) bloodline.
Is Kona good with people?
Absolutely! We’re not exaggerating when we say this, but Kona is a social butterfly and loves people of all ages, shapes, colours, and sizes.
How about with other dogs?
He’s also great with dogs! Again, we cannot stress what a little ham Kona is. He loves all dogs, big or small, fluffy or not. If he could have it his way he would be friends with everypawdy!
What does Kona eat?
Like many Cotons, Kona has a discerning palate. He was such a picky puppy that every day was a challenge to get enough food in him. He now happily eats his meals — he loves Primal Freeze-Dried Nuggets and fresh meals from BibimPaws.
Some of Kona’s favourite foods are organic roast chicken, chicken hearts and gizzard, fresh grilled salmon and mackerel, liver, beef and ostrich, and steak (human grade and antibiotic free). He also loves carrots, apples, pears, six-minute boiled eggs, strawberries, blueberries, and greens.
How does Kona stay so clean?
Daily: Kona’s an active pup so we have to make sure he stays fresh to avoid matting. We clean his eyes and face daily and also brush and comb him on a daily basis. We also rinse and towel dry his bottom of any “residue” when necessary.
Bi-weekly or weekly: Depending on how much outdoor time he gets we give him a full bath using Burt’s Bees (for puppies) Tearless Shampoo with Buttermilk for his head and face and a variety of clean shampoos for his body and paws.
What brushes do you use for Kona’s hair?
Our favourite and most used are: Chris Christensen’s oblong pin brush (27mm), fine/coarse buttercomb and small A5II Mark II Slicker.
